Oscar beauty secrets revealed this week came
as no surprise. Paparazzi from all over the world, fashion critiques and millions
of viewers globally have their eyes on the red carpet, as celebs feature
gowns from top designers with trend setting hair and makeup.
Without a doubt, all that perfection takes a ton of
preparation, - not to mention the weeks of diet and exercise prior to the big
event.
We had to share some of the tricks used to achieve perfect
hair at the Oscars. Skilled hairstylists can give stars a temporary eye lift
with a lace-front wig, said Michael Shaun Corby, global creative director for
Alterna Haircare, reported Associated Press and subsequently published by Daily Mail. Nylon thread is then used to sew a
patch of lace into tight pin-curls, which help lift the brows and smooth
wrinkles around the eyes.
“Then we top it with a $7,000 wig and no one knows our
little secret!” he said. Hair extensions also take hours of preparation, he added, “because we carefully sew individual wefts of human hair together in a
multitude of colors to get the exact look and texture for the star.”
“The stars need perfection on the red carpet,” said Corby,
and we give it to them.
