DIY Tips for the Perfect Smoky Eye

http://www.hbbeautybar.com/NYX-Cosmetics-s/2118.htm

The smoky eye is timeless, not to mention sexy, and ladies, - you don’t have to wait for Valentine’s to rock it. Too many of us avoid this look because we think it’s simply too hard to create or that it will take up too much of 'your make up’ time.

This is so untrue. So here, we wanted to share this simple step-by-step guide for achieving the perfect classic smoky eye.

The trick to perfecting a smoky eye is in careful layering of multi-toned eye shadows in light, medium and dark shades along with a highlighting accent shadow. If you're not an expert yet, try using natural shades to start with. This Natural Shadow Palette by NYX works for all skin tones.

  • Sweep the second-lightest shade of your choice across the eyelid just below the brow bone.
  • Apply the medium shade into the eyelid crease, blending well into the brow bone. This shade frames the eye.
  • Use the darkest shade to line the upper and lower lash lines.
  • Sweep the lightest accent shade right above the brow bone and into the inner corner of the eye. This shade highlights the eyes and makes them appear larger.
  • Use NYX Cosmetics’ The Curve eyeliner right at the top eyelid as its lash line. For a more dramatic look, line the lower eyelid as well.
  • Ardell Professional’s Individual Lashes are easy to apply and give the eye a winged, retro look. Use one, two, three or more at the outer corners of the eyes to frame them and add a finished look to the smoky eye.
  • Open up the lashes with a quick curl, using TweezermanProfessional’s Super Curl Eyelash Curler.
  • Complete the smoky eye look with a coat of volumizing mascara. NYX Doll Eye Mascara will create length and volume.
